In an all too familiar situation, Australia’s hip hop festival scene has been dealt a damaging blow, in the form of a complete event cancellation.

Sydney’s annual Come Together festival, which was set to be headlined by Australian hip hop personality Kerser, as well as The Funkoars and Diafrix, as well as new talents Remi and Jackie Onassis, has be cancelled on the basis of low ticket sales.

Taken from the festivals official website, the statement is an all too familiar sight for hip hop fans in Australia, with Come Together following suite of many of it predecessors in failing to deliver a large scale hip hop event on our shores.

“We regret to announce that due to ticket sales not reaching their targets we have decided to cancel this year’s Come Together on June 7. The event remains as one of Sydney’s only all ages concert experiences and for the last 10 years has provided many developing acts the opportunity to play the big stage and help build their fan base. Come Together will return in 2015 bigger and better!”

Ticket holders have been advised to contact their place of purchase to receive a full refund.
