Let Them Eat Cake is back, this year boasting an unreal lineup of local and international talent. Having earned a place in the hearts of electronic music lovers around the country as the place to be on New Years Day.

New York producer and designer Seth Haley, aka Com Truise will be heading down under to perform at Let Them Eat Cake, so we asked what his favourite Australian tracks are as he has remixed for the likes of Client Liaison and Flight Facilities and here’s what he chose….

Icehouse – No Promises

It opens with the warm rising pads, and then that smokey vocal glides in. It such a driving track, definitely a lonely highway track. It’s such a ballad.

Miami Horror – Holidays (feat. Alan Palomo)

I’ve loved this track since the first time I heard it. With all the moody, dark shit I listen to, this is up there on the list of my “put me in a good mood, pronto.” list for sure.

The Sherbs – We Ride Tonight

Who couldn’t love the silky brass that comes showering your ears like warm hands, and then we bring in that massive organ-esq synth and a screaming lead. I love the subtly chugging guitar thats panned pretty hard to the left. It’s an amazing track, just listen to that snare drum.

Empire Of The Sun – Walking On A Dream

This track has always been on my playlists, I remember DJing electro parties in Philadelphia and popping this one on. I’ve always thought the drums in this track are perfect, they’re so tight and punchy. Gives me the chills.

Tame Impala – Past Life

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this record and when it finally dropped, I think I’ve listened to if start to finish, 200 times. Past Life is such a standout for me, it’s a little different than the rest of the record in that it has glitchy spoken word and then when that distorted bass drops at 0:45, it always makes my hair standup.

INXS – Devil Inside

I think the first time I heard this track was on a cassette tape that my parents had. That wonky rim shot always makes me do a little jerk, the sound of that guitar riff is so smooth but grimy, its one of my all time favorite riffs. How can you not love the voice of Michael Hutchence?!
