Brett Morgen, director of the upcoming and much anticipated Kurt Cobain documentary, COBAIN: Montage Of Heck, was given unprecedented access to Cobain’s archives during the making of the film.
In a cinema-only interview, he discusses what it was like to have this intimate and private level of access, and why audiences are about to ‘meet Kurt for the first time’.
The movie features unreleased music, never seen before footage and artworks created by the man himself.
Executive Producer on the documentary was Kurt’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain, and full co-operation was also provided from the Cobain estate.
COBAIN – Montage of Heck features interviews with Kurt’s family, none of whom have ever been interviewed before, along with band mate Krist Novoselic and Courtney Love.
After premiering to fantastic reviews at the Sundance Film Festival in January, the Australian theatrical release date for COBAIN – Montage of Heck is May 7, for a limited time only.
