Hailing all the way from Seattle, the four-piece indie rock outfit Chastity Belt are infecting Australian shores with the announcement of their debut Australian tour kicking off in September.

Becoming known as a force to be reckoned with, Chastity Belt are helping women reclaim what is theirs through empowering the words often used to degrade them. They deliver lashing after lashing through their post-punk attitude and highlight the inequality that the female gender experiences.

Having formed an acquaintance with Australian rock idol Courtney Barnett, the girls already have strong ties with the Australian music scene, particularly after Barnett was seen sporting their merch on stage at Glastonbury.

Their endlessly playful demeanour and resonating nonchalance has accompanied Chastity Belt from their humble beginnings. From arriving at a frat party, flipping a beer-pong table and screaming ‘Chastity Belt!’, to casually throwing together a last-minute set that won them a battle of the bands competition, Chastity Belt have been one to look out for from their inception.

With a new album on the brink of birth, Chastity Belt have decided to grace Australia with a reimagined sense of femininity, allowing us to bask in their empowering, and exquisite excellence.
