After eight albums, countless trips around the globe and the ever demanding process of honing their well-cultivated signature style, Calexico announce Edge of the Sun.
The most recent offering from Joey Burns and John Convertino, Edge of the Sun is an album teetering on the borders of both light and dark.
“This album is about pushing through the blue to the brighter days. Calexico has always had that element of hope going back and forth between a positive outlook and embracing desperate or dark themes,” Burns said of the new album.
Rife with collaboration, Edge of the Sun welcomes guest artist Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), Nick Urata (Devotchka), Gaby Moreno, Amparo Sanchez, Neko Case and many, many more.
Calexico’s Edge of the Sun will be released April 10 through Spunk Records.
