Following the massive success of their latest bombastic single ‘Free’, New Zealand electropop sibling duo Broods have announced their new album, Conscious. Set for release on June 24, Broods will tour the east coast of Australia in support of the record.

The album, which will be released through Island Records/UMA, is already available for fans to pre-order via the band’s official website, with lead singer Georgia Nott describing the album’s title choice as summing up the group’s approach to creating new music.  “We’re very conscious on what we want to achieve with this album. We’re very conscious of what we want to do and what kind of impact we want to make. At the end of the day, it’s important to have a say over every aspect of your art.

Conscious is the follow up to Broods’ 2014 debut album, Evergreen, which contained the hit singles ‘Bridges‘ and ‘Mother & Father‘ and charted #1 on the New Zealand album chart, #5 on the Australian ARIA Album Chart and climbed to Top 10 of Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart.  Joel Little (Lorde, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding), who produced Evergreen, serves as executive producer on Conscious, with the album also featuring a duet with Tove Lo and a song the band co-wrote with fellow New Zealander Lorde.

Thrust into the international spotlight before the band had even played a live show, multi-instrumentalist/producer Caleb Nott provides a captivating insight into the fearless maturity the duo have developed in such a short space of time.  “After touring for so long, you start realizing which songs you enjoy playing the most and which songs the audience reacts to the most.  We know more about what we’re up to and that’s definitely influenced the way that we wrote.  This album is a punch in the face compared to the last one.  Evergreen was very subtle and airy, Conscious really goes for the throat.

Having just concluded a string of US arena dates supporting Ellie Goulding, the band will now turn their attention to promoting their own album, unveiling plans to return to Australia for an east coast headline tour in July.  The Australian run will kick off on July 8th in Brisbane, before heading to Sydney and Melbourne, where they will be joined by Vera Blue and Xavier Dunn.

Pre-sale tickets to Broods’ Australian shows are available now via Live Nation to Live Nation members, while tickets for the general go on sale at 10am Friday, April 22.
