As if Brisbanites’ didn’t fill Melbourians’ cold winter-frosted hearts with enough envy already, The Foundry and Howl & Echoes are bringing forth from Brisbane’s abundant female filled music scene, a brand new quarterly event emerging through the dense mass of beards and flannel-Brisbabes. Set to rain love and affection and appreciation on all the cities musical ladies.
Raining in the first ever celebration of all that is the female human specimen sees the vivid soul infused RnB stylings of MKO SUN take to the stage first up, followed by Gabriella Cohens own sultry yet enigmatic stage presence localized into a playful experimentation with indie rock. All of this topped off by the playfully yet brooding sound of dynamic duo OK Badlands.
This quarterly event is set to foster a supportive, inclusive and inspirational scene where even more equal opportunities may cultivate themselves, providing an outlet where women feel inspired while able to showcase their work. However gender does not rule supreme in your ability to go along and support the cause and enjoy the aural lovechild of devoted female artists, regardless of whether you are a man, a lady or in the realms that roam between, Brisbabes opens their doors to you, requiring only one thing of audiences-an adoration for all things music and babin’.
