Taking place over the Easter Long Weekend Thursday 24 March – Monday 28 March 2016, at the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm in the beautiful Byron Shire, just outside of Byron Bay, the festival has announced two-time Grammy Award winner D’Angelo with his current talent-fuelled band, The Vanguard, to the Thursday night of Bluesfest.
D’Angelo’s star has been rising since he dropped his debut, platinum-selling album, Brown Sugar in 1995. His evolution is a joy to witness. This multifaceted, multi-talented, genre-bending artist fuses the best of R&B, Soul, Blues, Gospel, Jazz-fusion and Psychedelic Rock!
Along with D’Angelo, Californian band Cold War Kids, Houndmouth, Oakland’s Black Roots star Fantastic Negrito, Hawaiian Roots Reggae rising star Mike Love, Kaleo and Landreth will all be making the trip to Australia to perform on The Bluefest stages.
