Melbourne bred electronic artist Banoffee has blessed us all with the simple, yet beautiful music video for her track ‘Oceans’.
The video, produced by Banoffee herself, features a story told through movement by Aisha Kuryana. The fluid movements of the petite dancer perfectly reflect the wobbly synths of ‘Oceans’.
The solo-producer describes the idea for the video, “I wrote oceans to try and understand that deep ache of missing someone. The feeling of waking and reaching for them and your arm goes right through… Aisha’s movement is her ode to long distance love. Expressing feelings of frustration and confusion in a way that can create something beautiful and cathartic. It is her way of saying “I miss you”, her way of saying “this is for you” whilst giving parts of herself that only her dearest have seen before.”
Adding another dimension to ‘Oceans’, a single featured on the 2015 EP ‘Do I Make You Nervous?’, the artistic love-child of Banoffee and Aisha Kuryana is beautiful and reflective.
‘Do I Make You Nervous?’ is available now via Dot Dash/Remote Control.
