This very second (well, midday AEST), Icelandic troubadour Ásgeir is streaming a one off, very very special performance.
Why is this so special you ask? Well…. Ásgeir is performing requests for 24 hours in his Reykavik studio live and laying them onto a lathe vinyl cutter (a dub plate) as an acetate. During the course of the stream, a series of 7″ records will be produced with each including handwritten tracklistings and reimagined versions of the original tracks.
So, how do you get one? Be prepared to hunt…
The 7s will be available to fans worldwide , with hints that Australia will have “multiple Australian cities and suburbs” involved in the vinyl scavenger hunt.
You can get around the project by using the hashtag #asgeirstraighttovinyl across your socials and by getting involved in the YouTube channel comments section.
