Deliverer of electro-soul Alice Ivy has a juicy morsel for us to digest this dreary Friday afternoon. Lifted from her upcoming debut album, ‘Touch’ features vocals from London-based blues singer Georgia Van Etten.
Originally starting her musical journey with the clarinet, Alice Ivy aka Annika Schmarsel then picked up the guitar before being inspired to dabble in beat-making by the likes of The Avalanches, J Dilla and Bonobo.
‘Touch’ is a beautiful “Through The Looking-Glass”-esque dreamscape; wonderfully layered original field recordings from the streets of Melbourne with warm guitar lines, strings, brass and manipulated feature vocals from London-based blues singer Georgia Van Etten.
This song will have you dreaming of warm nights, sandy beaches, bonfires and the company of your favourite people, definitely the tune to take your mind off the not-so summer weather most of the country is experiencing at the moment.
To mark this release Alice Ivy is embarking on a six-date tour, dates below.
