Alt-rockers Violent Soho have been added to the lineup for 2016’s Mountain Sounds Festival on New South Wales’ Central Coast.  The announcement comes after The Jezabels postponed all slated tour dates following the shock announcement that keyboardist Heather Shannon would need to undergo emergency treatment for her private three-year battle with Ovarian Cancer.

With a large void both musically and emotionally left to fill, Violent Soho are will doubtless be up to the task, with their 2013 album Hungry Ghost being certified Gold in Australia, after having toured internationally in support of The Arctic Monkeys, while more recently polling at Number 15 in yesterday’s Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown with their latest hit single ‘Like Soda‘, taken from their upcoming album.

In support of Shannon, the festival will be accepting donations on the day from attendees, while Violent Soho declared all proceeds from the sale of their merchandise at the festival will be donated to Ovarian Cancer Australia, to help raise funds for awareness and research.  You can donate to the foundation here.

Violent Soho will join artists including Alpine, Art vs Science, The Delta Riggs, Holy Holy and more, with the full lineup, latest news and ticketing information available from the festival’s official website.
