Celebrating its 30th year, the 2015 Melbourne Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever, taking place across the Foxtel Festival Hub and inner city venues from the 8-25 October.

With local artists collaborating on the world’s greatest rock albums to  electronic outfits teaming up with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra,  the year’s program guarantees something for every music lover.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Patti Smith’s revolutionary rock album HorsesCourtney Barnett, Jen Cloher, founding Magic Dirt member Adalita and The Drones Gareth Liddiard unite for one special Australian exclusive performance at Melbourne Town Hall.

Electronic music sensations Flight Facilities will perform with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to recreate the duo’s five year journey to acclaimed debut album Down to Earth, with special guest vocalists Owl Eyes, Emma Louise, Katie Noonan at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Laura Marling returns to Melbourne with a full band off the back of her latest release, Short Movie and will perform in the acoustic sublime of Hamer Hall for one night only.

Melbourne Festival’s Foxtel Festival Hub program will play host to  Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds, cult-producer Janus Rasmussen, and minimal techno duo Kiasmos joined by special guest Hans Berg. All the way from Ireland Colm Mac Con Lomaire, Germany’s Brandt Brauer Frick will bring their genre-bending sonic perfection to the country for the first time and L.A based R&B duo Rhye and Charles Murdoch and HWLS will bring the electronic vibes with Future Classic Night and many more.

The Hub will also host free music sessions every Sunday throughout the Festival and a free concert Countries to Welcome in Federation Square featuring Music Victoria’s Best Indigenous Act 2014, The Deans, Sudanese singer-songwriter Ajak Kwai and special guest performers.
