triple j, Double J and triple j Unearthed celebrated their 10th annual J Awards last night, with a massive party at Howler in Melbourne, honouring the very best talent Australia has to offer.

Australian Album of the Year – Chet Faker – Built on Glass
Joining the likes of Tame Impala (2010 + 2012), Gotye (2011) and Flume (2013), Chet Faker takes home the 2014 J Award for Australian Album of the Year for his beautiful record Built On Glass.

Unearthed Artist of the Year – Meg Mac
24-year-old soul-pop chanteuse Meg Mac first joins previous Unearthed Artist of the Year artists Boy & Bear (2010), Ball Park Music (2011), The Rubens (2012) and Remi (2013), we are excited to see what Meg Mac has in store for us next.

Double J Australian Artist of the Year – Mia Dyson
After spending a decade honing her skills as a musician and songwriter, Mia Dyson gave us Idyllwild, her most accomplished record to date. Mia is the first winner of the inaugural Double J Australian Artist of the Year award.

Australian Music Video of the Year – Sia – Chandelier’ 
Media-shy, Sia  found 11 year old Maddie Ziegler to star in her video for ‘Chandelier’ wearing a platinum wig, leap and crawl through an abandoned office space. Co-directed by Daniel Askill, it’s an unforgettable performance from Ziegler, which has aided the video to almost 300 million views.  Co-presented by rage, it’s easy to see why Sia’s ‘Chandelier won the Australian Music Video of the Year award.
