Just when we thought we couldn’t love her any more, we listened to Miss Blanks’ ‘Skinny Bitches‘ track featuring Moonrise.
Serving as an inspiration for ‘atypical’ rappers in Australia’s music scene, Miss Blanks inspires her listeners one track at a time. And ‘Skinny Bitches’ is no different. In an industry populated by white, heterosexual men, Miss Blanks provides a new and unique voice to the hip-hop scene. Unlike much of hip-hop music which degrades women, her songs go against mainstream rap music and send a clear message of both female and trans empowerment.
‘Skinny Bitches’ teaches its listeners not only to embrace their sexuality, but to own their individual identities. And to do so unapologetically.
The track has a pumping beat, with punchy vocals layered over the top. Brisbane’s Miss Blanks encapsulates sex-positivity through ‘Skinny Bitches,’ and it’s just about as fierce as it gets. Certified banger status achieved.
Miss Blanks will also be performing at Laneway in early 2018 where she will continue to spread her message of girl power throughout the country. Her highly anticipated EP Diary of a Thotaholic is set for release on November 17.
