Venice on Fire, a rising band from Toowoomba in Queensland, have stepped up their aggression with their debut album Tempt A Saint. Set for release on June 26th, we are very excited to premiere this edgy, nine track album.
Citing a variety of influences such as Rise Against, Nirvana, Foo Fighters and fellow Queenslanders Violent Soho, Venice on Fire have moved past their early observational style of writing and stepped into the murky waters of politics, modern life and society. With a raw sound and a Black Sabbath-esque vocal style, Venice on Fire should be incredibly happy with themselves and their new album. Bassist Jarrod Hall touches on some of the excitement swirling around the band at the moment, and gives us an insight into the nature of the lead single, ‘(An Open Door May) Tempt a Saint.’
“The song was just so direct and to the point, yet it takes plenty of twists and turns with the song-writing – I just love playing it live,” he said.
The boys will be launching the album on June 23 at The Spotted Cow in Toowoomba with fellow locals Mercury Sun. More tour dates are expected to be announced shortly. Both the lead single and the entire album are available to buy on digital stores now. Catch a listen below.
