Liv Cartledge’s new track ‘Heard Your Name’ indulges in harmonies and hazy layers. As a cooing howl grips onto a cloudy synth, Cartledge’s raspy voice rides on a wave of mist sweeping through a rural paddock of yellow stained grass.
‘Heard Your Name’ feels like time speeding past you at an erratic speed, the world around you passing by while you maintain a sensibly slow walking pace – it’s a whimsical slice of pop channeling a smooth, dreamy soundscape backed by a rolling drum loop.
As the track reaches its conclusion, its like smoke clearing once a fire of pink and purple haze has finally been put out by a bucket of water.
