Sometimes there is no joy purer than experiencing a well crafted rock song. With ‘Teaser,’ Melbourne band AMIKO delivers just that. The first single from their upcoming EP is a promising taste of whats come.

This band can sure write a riff –  from the awesome opening bass cords to the complimentary cutting guitar lines, which are well highlighted by the very slick production value. Their own description of their music as , “funk-punk rock” is actually pretty accurate, with funky rhythmic lines reminiscent of the Violent Soho sound.  The meaning of this song is elusive but we are told it’s a ‘heartbreak track that will leave you with your dignity in tact.’

Known for their punchy live performances, AMIKO are playing as part of a residency with Common Cult label mates Anti-Violet at the Evelyn in Melbourne next month. A must see gig for any unadulterated rock’n’roll fans.
