Irish Singer-songwriter Declan O’Rourke spent eight years of his childhood in Australia, where he was handed his first guitar by a priest at the age of 13. Now he’s back this September and October for an unmissable series of concerts in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide. He will also be making an appearance at the Nashville Skyline festival.
O’Rourke’s music has been described as instantly classic sounding, timeless, like its been around forever and has somehow found its way into our consciousness as naturally as the sand washes to the shore. The Dublin born artist seamlessly weaves the elements of the past and history with his romantic and melancholy style of storytelling. But he’s also great for a laugh and is an unforgettable entertainer.
O’Rourke is perpetually on tour and has performed at iconic venues and festivals across the UK, Europe and North America. The larrikin, poet and singer-songwriter has graced audiences with his presence at Glastonbury, has performed for three Irish presidents, for Amnesty International and even alongside Paul Kelly and Shane Howard as part of Exile: Songs & Tales of Irish Australia.
With the award winning musicians sense of humour, intimate and chummy performance style, and his 50 piece Orchestra behind him, his live performances are indisputably a must see.
Catch him on one of these dates.
