Simona Castricum has just released her EP Triumph, and will follow up with a tour across some of Australia’s biggest cities.
After the release of the EP, Simona Castricum has dropped her steamy music video for ‘Triumph,’ the title track. The five minute 42 second track features a melodic beat and the guest vocals of Cultra, with Simona Castricum at the centrepoint of the video. Directed by Xanthea Dobbie and Nina Renee, the video explores a queer rave in the depths of the Otway Forest, and leaves viewers with high expectations for the upcoming tour.
She says “’Triumph’ recognises those moments when you finally move on from profound sadness – and recognise that in itself is an achievement. When we bare our vulnerabilities and fall into the abyss it’s important to know it’s something we can climb out of. Taking that time to celebrate it is an important way to reconnect with strength and love.”
Simona Castricum is well known for trans advocacy, and her profound voice in the community – ultimately making her EP’s message even more important. Triumph exhibits a different sound to her 2016 album #TriggerWarning40, and showcases bold remixes and darker excursions into club spaces. The EP will also be available on vinyl as of September 2017.
The national tour will be kicking off throughout September and October, with Simona Castricum getting ready to perform her music across the nation.
