To get your music craving fixed, Shimmerlands is here with a powerful lineup in its outdoor music program. From internationally renowned names to local music legends, this two-month summer festival has curated a series of free shows to keep you entertained during this hot summer weather.

Bringing his spontaneous tunes is Melbourne musician Gregor and his four piece band. Performing on Thursday January 19, Gregor is joined by his fellow Melbourne artist Sweet Whirl. They offer eclectic and euphonious tunes for your listening pleasure.

Lead guitarist of Dirty Three, Mick Turner is scheduled to play on Friday January 20. Mick is back with his gentle set. Embrace the soft hum and whisper that shoots straight into your heart.

Two of UK’s most respected DJs, Floating Points (Sam Shepherd) and Red Greg (Darren Griffiths) are in the house to drop some unexpected beats on Sunday January 29. Join their party set ‘You’re a Melody’ for some liberating tunes, where you will find yourself letting loose with the beats from these DJs’ magical fingers. Tickets can be found here.

For us vintage-loving music fans out there, Melbourne band Jazz Party is here with an eight-piece band, to perform a set full of energetic and swinging jazz and blues. The band emerged from Melbourne’s secretive hidden bars and lofts, and they are performing on Thursday February 16 to bring us some raw and electrifying tunes.

Saving the best for the last, Shimmerlands presents a music party with all of your favourite musicians from Melbourne’s local community radio station RRR. The epic sign-off starts from 1.00 PM on Saturday February 25, featuring the tunes and voices you heard and fell in love with, on the premier radio station.

Covering weekends of January and February, Shimmerlands’ outdoor music program is curated by Melbourne DJ Andee Frost and creative agency Supple Fox (Dark MOFO, MIAF). A full list of performances can be found here.
