Here at Speaker TV, Gabriella Cohen and PBS are two of our absolute favourite things.
So we’re very excited to premiere this beautiful live rendition of Cohen‘s spellbinding, simmering and reflective number ‘Downtown’ performed on PBS.
Former member of The Furrs, Gabriella Cohen rose to prominence as a solo artist on the Melbourne music scene throughout 2015 and 2016, winning hearts and minds in the city, and the country at large with her breakout debut Full Closure And No Details. Each of the tracks on the record are wonderful demonstrations of impeccable songwriting prowess, and storytelling ability. Her smooth, smokey and expressive voice laying over the beautiful musical arrangements is utterly charming. Recently, Cohen has been doing the rounds in Europe and the United States, and she is sure to be taking a global audience by storm with her sophomore album, which is on the horizon.
Deserving of all the accolades she is receiving, we can’t wait to hear what comes out of the Gabriella Cohen camp next. In the meantime, we have this beautiful live recording to tide us over.
