The Irish crooner who brought us the smash hit ‘Take Me to Church’ is touring Australia for the first time in over three years, and we are so glad he’s finally back.
Hozier is touring Australia with his latest album, Wasteland, Baby! which features singles like ‘Movement’, ‘Dinner And Diatribes’ and ‘Almost’, but we are sure he’ll mix in some of his hits as well. Wasteland, Baby! features his signature soulful vocals and crashing instrumentals, as well as his unparalleled songwriting ability.
Tracks like ‘Almost’ and ‘Shrike’ are softer than his breakout hit, combining folksy guitar riffs with pop and blues influences for a smooth, dreamy effect.
‘Movement’ has more of the evocative, Gospel-like energy of ‘Take Me to Church’, building from a slow, pulsing rhythm into a towering crescendo and showcasing Hozier’s vocal talent.
Hozier will be in Australia for a limited time, from 19-26 April, performing his latest album to eagerly awaiting fans in Sydney and Melbourne. You’ll worship him like a fan at the shrine of his lyrics, so be sure to check out his tour dates and more below.
Hozier will be performing at the Sydney Opera House on April 22nd and 23rd, and in Melbourne on the 25th and 26th. You can also catch him at the Byron Bay Bluesfest on the 19th.
