Melbourne singer BATTS has returned with ‘Gun’, a song with an interesting background. More specifically, this emotionally delicate song is written about fictional characters- when life gets too confusing, when life gets too tough, when it just seems like life isn’t going anywhere, you can always rely on the ones you read about in books.

As described by BATTS herself:

“I wasn’t feeling inspired by my own life, and didn’t feel any urge to become self-destructive like I had in younger years to create, I remembered how much I loved to write stories as a child, and thought I’d start writing fictional stories into songs, and creating the music to set the vibe and world around it.”

Although not featured in this song, her other songs do showcase a lot of themes about space and science which is pretty cool and definitely worth a listen. If that sounds like something you’re keen on listening to, don’t forget to check out her tour coming up! Dates are:
