You might need to get out your ‘tune rag’ for this one because KLP is back with another track that will keep your hips moving from start to finish. The part-time resident on Triple J’s Saturday night house party and part time superwoman, KLP has released her latest track ‘Changes’ which might just be enough to get you out of your winter blues. Hot off the tail of her last release at the beginning of the year, KLP gives us a dose of what she’s been busy doing when she isn’t setting off your Saturday night with a killer DJ set.
Featuring a pulsating bass line, dreamy vocal harmonies, and even some 808-esque drum fills, the track is an ode to how much has happened for the Sydney-born superstar in the last year.
Kristy Lee Peters, aka KLP, has an expanse of talents on her resume including producing, singing, writing, DJing, radio hosting and even having her own record label on which she released ‘Changes’. It is hard to believe she even has time for a social life – oh wait, she does – having worked with Aussie mates within the industry such as What So Not, and PNAU. Growing up with a father who ran a recording studio, and signing to a label at the ripe old age of 13 meant that Kristy Lee Peters is not only very far ahead in terms of her experience within the industry, it also means she has incredible knowledge about music, which is reflected in her own work.
Her debut EP Ember, released in October of 2016, is an amalgamation of every musical influence she has had, and who we have danced along to during her Triple J sets. She is a dreamy pop-electronic songstress, who has enough attitude in her to convince us she’s a veteran in the game and one who is keeping Australia on the map.
This track is a perfect follow up to her last body of work, and you will most definitely find yourself screaming the lyrics in the shower for a while to come.
You can see KLP play at The Grand Hotel in Wollongong on July 1st.
