In 2015 German pianist & composer Nils Frahm announced a new annual celebration called Piano Day. Piano Day will take place on the 88th of the year (March 29th) in cities all around the world, including Melbourne.
The Melbourne edition will take place at Chapter House (Level 2, 195 Flinders Ln), and will be presented by local musicians Luke Howard and Nat Bartsch, and the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) along with Piano Day and Alpha 60.
The event will feature performances from an array of pianists, including Andrea Keller, Luke Howard, Nat Bartsch, Berta Brozgul, Adam McMillan, and Donald Hugh. Entry is by donation, with all proceeds going to Support Act, which helps Australian musicians during times of need. Have a look here for more details.
