Australia’s iconic New Years camping event Falls Festival is predominantly known for roping in some of the best international, musical entertainers as well as putting great local talent up on a pedestal for punters to enjoy. But one shouldn’t forget that the festival releases a massive and exciting arts program for each location every year, and the year’s 24th instalment is no exception.

The arts program will bounce alongside the main music program, with a smorgasbord of activities and performances to amuse you in between sets. It’s filled with everything from interpretive dance routines and circus acrobats to interactive installations and art workshops.

At Marion Bay, The Village program will provide a sensational and diverse landscape of circus shows, abstract dance battles, Ukrainian accordion maestros, beauty salons, yoga sessions, kinetic sculptures, and more. A few notable performers like 8 Foot FelixBurnt SausagesLawless Quartet, and more will be making appearances, while comedy will be headlined by Danger Academy, interactive tidbits supplied by the likes of TovareshMUM and DAD, and more, with theatre aspects spearheaded by The Operating Theatre of Satan. At the age inclusive Marion Bay edition, The Village will also be the perfect place to chill with your little ones as there’ll be a variety of children-aimed activities like kids’ comedians, face painting craft stations, story times, treasure hunts, and more.

In Fremantle, it’s all about the installations, with delectable lights and delights scattered throughout the day and night for your pleasure. Curated by the MANY team, creatives like Success ArtsSunday WeavesShady Crafternoons, and Days of Being Wild will provide art platforms you can touch or immerse yourself with. There’ll also be a huge market with a bunch of market stalls featuring the very best and unique vintage fashion, homemade knick knacks, beauty products, or temporary tattoos.

The Village also visits Falls’ Lorne edition with burlesque performances by Clara Cupcakes in Hot Patootie, sketch comedy shows from Tom WalkerLaura Davis, and more, bands from across the globe like Juan Versuvius in Calypso Night or Penny Candy-Oke, as well as sunrise yoga sessions, karaoke showdowns, and Latin dance lessons. They’ll even be a So You Think You Can Interpretive Dance competition and circus shows from Dr. Prof. Neal Portenza MD. Lorne will also host its third Rancho Relaxo, the festival’s very own lifestyle precinct that offers up niche entertainment like craft workshops, divine massages, funky markets, healthy food services, and even late night silent disco parties. The Gyuto Monks of Tibet will also stop by to encourage harmonic chanting and meditation to ensure you’re at peace with yourself.

In sunny Byron Bay, The Grove is the place to be, with surprises around every corner. It’s guaranteed to be a snowball of fun as there will be magic, puppetry, samba soul sessions, Russian choirs, cabaret, and fresh rhymes from wild rappers. Performers like Angie Hudson and DELI will be in this whole new world, as well as comedy clubs from Gordon Southers or Lindsey Webb. The Funky MovesSamba Soul, and The Cassettes dance crews will be cruising with an ever-changing lineup of DJs, and a plethora of circus entertainers and magicians are bound to blow your mind. If you want to get involved, there’ll be a ton of workshops too: partner acrobatics, hip-hop dance, hula-hoop sessions, and carnivale percussion, just to name a few.

Each location program will kick off with the anticipated Boogie Nights on the first night, themed fancy dress and more specifically, ‘ALL GOLD EVERYTHING’. So don your best glittering golden costume and get ready to dance the night away.
