It’s not often that you hear politics, religion and bagels in the same sentence.
In just two weeks time, 2016 Raw Comedy National Finalist Michael Shafar will debut his show Jewish-ish at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where he will share his, well, Jewish-ish perspective on just those things: politics, religion and bagels.
As one of the country’s most exciting new comics, Shafar is no stranger to the comedy scene with an extensive list of achievements already under his belt. The stand-up comedian has headlined shows around Australia, New Zealand and Asia, hosted Channel 31’s The Leak, performed on SBS’s Raw Comedy, represented Australia in the Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person in the World Competition and performed to sell-out crowds in 3 Course Comedy at Perth’s Fringe World and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Shafar currently writes for Channel 10’s The Project.
You can catch Jewish-ish from March 30th – April 23rd (no shows Wednesday) at Trades Hall from 8:30pm (7:30 on Sundays). Tickets $20-$25.
