Ahoy, budding swashbucklers! It’s time to screw on your peg leg, draw your sword and fly the flag; the call is out for all actors and extras to join the Pirates of the Caribbean gang!
With Hollywood blockbuster Dead Men Tell No Tales destined for Australian shores next year, Disney officials are encouraging local actors and extras to get on-board the Black Pearl when it lands.
The fifth instalment of the pirate franchise is set to be shot in and around Port Douglas and the Gold Coast, with filming set to start in February 2015.
Disney announced that they are happy to hold castings and auditions for Australian actors of all ages, with many extra parts available for mermaids, pirates, wenches, cabin boys, monsters and shipmates.
Three-time Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp will be back as charismatic Captain Jack Sparrow, alongside Orlando Bloom and Australian’s own Geoffrey Rush.
Extra auditions are expected to take place at Village Roadshow Studios at the start of 2015.
