The much talked-about 18-year-old Northern Irish singer/songwriter SOAK has wowed crowds at the annual SXSW music conference. She was described by Consequence of Sound as “the only performer to stun the crowd to silence”, and the NY Times said “I saw a lot of great stuff at SWSX. But I have to choose one. She’s 18… But amazing — and I very much doubt I’ll get this close again”.

As SOAK prepares to embark on her first Australian shows this week and will be joined by fellow 18-year-old singer/songwriter Jesse Davidson, HOWQUA will join the bill at Shadow Electric in Melbourne on Friday 17 April.

SOAK has been named “One To Watch” for 2015 via the likes of iTunes, Spotify and the BBC Sound Poll, she recently unveiled the video for current single ‘Sea Creatures’. Her debut album, Before We Forgot How To Dream is a stunning snapshot of SOAK’s formative years growing up in Northern Ireland, touching variously on the themes of isolation, family and what to do with your future.

SOAK will play her very first Australian shows in Sydney & Melbourne this April on the following dates:

Wednesday 15 April – Hibernian House, Sydney [SOLD OUT]
With Jesse Davidson

Thursday 16 April – Paddington Uniting Church, Sydney
With Jesse Davidson

Friday 17 April – Shadow Electric, Melbourne

Thanks to Handsome Tours we have 1 x double pass to give away to SOAK’S Melbourne show. So leave your details below if you’re over the age of 18 and can attend on the following date: Friday 17 April – Shadow Electric Bandroom, Melbourne (+18 only).
