There are three things that Australian youth love:

  1. When the local supermarket drops a fresh batch of avo’s, slinging them out at a generous 2 for $5.
  2. The ever graceful and eternally loved stylings of our national hero, Russell Coight.
  3. And of course, Patrick, god damn legend, dance music hero, all round great bloke, Topping.

1 of those 3 things is back with a vengeance; and with avocados unfortunately in their offseason, and Coight busy taming the wild ways of the Aussie outback, we’re happy to announce that Patrick Topping is returning to Australia.

Yes the UK based tech-house artist is back, fresh from dropping a brand new EP with Trick record label, titled Watch What Ya Doing, and mere months after playing what Topping called “the best festival [I’ve] ever played“, gifting us with this absolute banger at Rainbow Serpent Festival in January 2019:

Garnering die-hard fans around the globe, his Aussie fanbase may just take the title for the most devoted, selling out almost all of his last Melbourne shows including his headline set at Riva earlier this year, and a headline day party at Shed 14 in 2018.

For the 10th birthday of Melbourne company Thick As Thieves, Patrick Topping’s return will see him play alongside Netherlands-based techno heavyweight Patrice Baumel, as well as a string of notable locals, T-Rek, Steve Ward, Damon Walsh, and more.

The birthday bash is taking place this Sat 15th June at Melbourne’s Shed 14 and will kick off the start of Topping‘s tour, which will see him take Australia by storm over a total of 7 headline shows – many of which have already sold out. If we’re being honest, a Patrick Topping + Patrice Baumel headline show can be considered the tech house equivalent of a 2 for $5 Shepard avocado combo deal – so you’d better hop to it, these bad boys won’t last.
