Where in the world can you hear someone play amplified glass, witness awe-inspiring audio-visual shows and listen to some of the best experimental music in the world? Unsound Adelaide.

Unsound Adelaide is a multidisciplinary weekend festival devoted to thought provoking music and art. It is taking over The Queen’s Theatre in Adelaide from December 14-16, with late night shows on the 14th and 15th of December at the nightclub Sugar.

The line up for the festival features artists who are pushing the boundaries of sonic performance and innovating in their fields. No performance will be like the next – it will be an adventure into electronic music and art. And Adelaide is the only place in the Southern Hemisphere you can experience the Unsound festival.

Standouts of the Unsound Adelaide line up include a one-off exclusive performance by legendary electronics duo Matmos, the homeland debut of the stunning audio-visual show from Ben Frost and MFO, the incredible three-octave voice of Eartheater, and a performance by Lucas Abela featuring the main instrument of a piece of amplified glass.

Keep an eye out for Iceland-based Yves Tumor, who is a rising star in the experimental music scene, and the mesmerising music of polish cello player and electronic musician, Resina. Giant Swan is also a must see if you can handle their quaking bass and energised, aggressive dance music. Lanark Artefax’s audio visual show is also set to stun audiences.

Late night club shows will be returning to Unsound Adelaide at the nightclub Sugar. They will feature the savage sets of Malaysian-Chinese producer DJ, Tzusing, producer and promoter Ciel playing techno electro, acid and beyond, and rising Sydney-based producer ptwiggs exploding the rules of club music. Adelaide’s own Emily Glass will also be performing, as is Roza Terenzi, with more artists to be announced.
