2016 marks the 11th running year of The Age Music Victoria Awards, as part of the Melbourne Music Week program. One of the largest publicly voted music awards in the country, the event looks to highlight the wealth of talent in the Victorian music scene.
It’s been a rather exciting year for Victorian music, with festivals, venues, new releases, debut albums, reformations and new artists making outstanding contributions to the strength, quality and diversity of the state’s music community. The Age Victoria Music Awards highlight the immensity of talent on the local scene and offers a broad representation of a thriving music community.
This year, the nominees are all of a very high calibre in their respective categories. With this much staunch competition, it really is anyone’s game at this point. So if you see your favourite artist on there, make sure you place a vote! Public voting is open now, through till the 4th of November.
Without further ado, here are the nominees in each of the categories.
