World-renowned Australian stencil and street artist Luke Cornish (aka ELK) is currently showcasing his last exhibition Vanishing Point at the Nanda/Hobbs Contemporary in Sydney. His images use up to 100 layers of carefully hand-cut acetate to obtain the realism of photographs but ultimately transcends the medium to deliver a different veracity.

The past six years have seen Cornish granted a myriad of awards including the Churchill Fellowship, 2013, the Australian Stencil Art Prize, 2010, and the Archibald Prize in 2012. He was also a finalist for the Sulman Prize finalist in 2013 and a metro Art Prize finalist in 2011.

Cornish’s portrait of controversial Catholic priest Father Bob Maguire achieved a new auction record for a work by an Australian street artist in 2013.
