The NGV presents pioneering American conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner’s latest installation OUT OF SIGHT.
For over 50 years Lawrence Weiner artworks have been displayed across the world in many well established galleries. He is known for his creative combination of using language in the form of sculptures to create mesmerising artwork.
This text based style of artwork has now found its way to our shores and for the first time our very own gallery in Melbourne, NGV International, have the honour of hosting his never before seen new artwork.
NGV are well known for displaying engaging and intriguing artwork. For their opening weekend of OUT OF SIGHT they marked a series of dynamic performances demonstrating the unique talents of local teenage creatives in fields such as music, dance, comedy and sport.
This program will also be showcased with a short film that features reflections on the artwork from Melbourne high school students.
