Stepping up another level of funk from their past work, GL (aka Ella Thompson and Graeme Pogson) have perfectly channelled their inner Jamiroquai on their new track ‘Hallucinate’. Having already had a taste of what is to come on their debut album Touch, the Melbourne duo have stayed true to their ability to make you dance on their first release ‘Grip’.

‘Hallucinate’ begins with a heavy combo of synth and bass, establishing the groove early on. Playful synths introduce the sweet and powerful vocals of Thompson that build even further leading into the chorus. Mid-way through the track, it takes a dreamy turn with echoing vocals and ambient synths. Reaching the end, you are left thanking the disco-gods for GL and they’re soulful, funky ways. Blissfully melancholic and surprisingly nostalgic, ‘Hallucinate’ is the perfect taste of what we can expect from their debut album. Touch is set to be released on July 15th via Midnight Feature/Plastic World.
