Foodies assemble! It’s your favourite time of year again, the inaugural (not often enough) celebration of all things good food, good beverages, and good company in this great city. Taste Of Melbourne has announced it’s the full lineup for 2017, and you’d better invite your mums/dogs/that cute guy from down the road now because it’s looking delicious already. Featuring 12 showcase restaurants and 22 kick-ass chefs, the festival will be held over 4 days at the MCG’s Yarra Park, and you’d better grab tickets soon because it’s sure to sell out.

Notable chefs include George Calombaris from Melbourne hot spots The Press Club, Gazi, Hellenic Republic and Jimmy Grants. *Ideal date: meat/Masterchef lover. Also featuring Frank Camorra from the house of tapas MoVida. *Ideal date: someone who you don’t mind sharing with.
Robin Wickens from family-owned pub and meat-lovers paradise The Royal Mail. *Ideal date: A messy eater. You’ll also be able to enjoy the culinary excellence of Sandeep Rawata and Janral Singh from St Kilda and Hawthorn’s Indian restaurants Piquancy and Babu Ji. *Ideal date: someone who can handle spicy food.Fancy a beverage or 6? Don’t you worry, grab yourself a seat at the gin-blending masterclass hosted by Archie Rose Distilling Co. You’ll learn how to make this classic Melbourne spirit using the custom built copper pots that have been making your drink of choice for decades. And if you like to be a bit fancy or have someone you want to impress, then book yourself in at the Taste Tipis, an intimate tipi space featuring a private bar, a personal host, and a unique tasting experience you’re sure to remember. Warning: make sure you line your stomach with some food first.

If you’re a bit of a sweet tooth then take the time to bake yourself some hazelnut ganache and lemon-curd sweet tarts at the Lurpak baking class, and if you have little ones then bring them along on Sunday the 3rd of December for Family Fun Day, where your little rugrats will be able to feast, bake, paint, and they get in for free!Enjoy the warm summer evenings at Taste Of Melbourne and park yourself under the glittery neon trees to experience the After Dark Party in collaboration with PBS. This will feature some of Melbournes best DJ’s and will set the mood for a romantic date night, prepare you for an evening on the town, or could be the relaxing time you need to unwind with family and friends.
